The goal of the course is to increase the awareness of personnel responsible for the safety of passengers (on passenger vessels) in an emergency situation.

Ships operating in the Arctic and Antarctic environments are exposed to a number of unique risks.

Participants of this course will receive the training support they need to develop their competence and know-how to the safe operation and manoeuvring of vessels subject to the Polar Code.

This course provides education and training to all seafarers responsible for designated safety duties associated with the care, use and emergency
response of vessels using fuels within the IGF Code.

An advanced training for Masters, engineer officers and all personnel with
immediate responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems on
ships subject to the IGF code, satisfying section A-V/3 – paragraph 2 of the
STCW Code, referred to as the ‘Advanced IGF Training’.
